Mamod bases are generally fairly robust, however they can suffer from rust corrosion and paint flaking. If your Mamod base is looking somewhat tired maybe you could find a replacement here. Our Mamod bases are quite inexpensive but often need paint stripping and a respray, which is incidentally a nice Sunday afternoon job.
